In 1945, a group of ceramic artists formed around the ceramist Alexandre Kostanda in Accolay. They received their first significant commission with the production of ceramic buttons for Christian Dior. The technically innovative, growing group of artists in Burgundy was active until 1989 and created extensive series of utility ceramics.
