Set of seven bowls for the Majolika-Manufaktur Karlsruhe, Germany | Designed in 1930, made until 1933
Bowls in the shape of a small boat, resting on two small rectangles. Creamware; white body with lemon-yellow and greenish-turquoise, sprayed glaze; blue-grey feet; matt glaze
Set of six small bowls and one large bowl in a slightly constructivist aesthetic. The cheerful colours are typical of the 1920s and early 1930s and are documented in the literature on Martha Katzer. Katzer's tableware and vases were particularly popular as “avant-garde for everyday life” and are still eye-catching today. See also Figiel, p. 99 f.
