Red and black lacquered wood, chrome-plated metal, restored
This side table is attributed to Andé Groult. André Groult had already designed lacquered furniture such as his well-known double-tray side table around 1924. During this period, Groult created modern, elegant and practical designs with clear geometry and without ornamentation. Innovation was not necessarily without ornamentation for Groult. High-quality materials and finishes as well as rich decorations and colours are typical of much of his furniture.
