Desk lamp, executed by BAG Turgi, Turgi, Switzerland
Entwurf um 1933 - Designed around 1933
Reflector in brass and lampstand in burnished brass, arm in brown laquered wood, newly wired
The model is a variant of the well-known Karl Trabert desk lamp, produced in 1933 by Schanzenbach & Co in Frankfurt / Main. This elegant model manufactured by BAG Turgi was still popular in 1960: a chrome plated variant was presented in the Swiss Werkbund catalogue „Wohnen heute 3“, no. 42 007. Its design stands for the aesthetic of modernism and Bauhaus. Fiell attribute this variant to Trabert and highlight his regular interaction with the avantgarde in Germany.
