The model shown here is a variant of the well-known Karl Trabert desk lamp, produced in 1933 by Schanzenbach & Co in Frankfurt / Main. This elegant variant was executed by Switzerland's Bronzewarenfabrik AG Turgi. Still in 1960, it was shown in the catalogue of Swiss Werkbund „Wohnen heute 3“, product no. 42 007. Its avantgardistic design stands for the aesthetic of modernism as taught by Bauhaus. Fiell attribute this variant to Trabert and highlight his regular interaction with the German avantgarde.
