Visiting the industrial heritage monument Jakob Bengel in Idar-Oberstein will allow you to see the fully preserved historic jewellery production facility of the Jakob Bengel factory. The museum is not only telling you the story of Jakob Bengel’s successful modernist costume jewellery collection in the 1920s and 1930s. The Jakob Bengel foundation is also devoted to exhibitions and artist in residence programs related to contemporary jewellery design. The industrial heritage monument is the only authentic manufacturing plant with company flats and an industrialist mansion,
which embodies the over 150 year industrial history of the city of Idar-Oberstein.
